The world’s finest wine reflects place, the land and the vineyards where the grapes are grown, and the people who play an important part in the wine making journey. Our success is collective and made possible by the passion, hard work and complete commitment of our dedicated Paracombe team to make extraordinary wine.

Paul Drogemuller

Owner Co-Founder, Chief Winemaker & Viticulturist

Paul Drogemuller is a self-taught winemaker/ grower come builder. His connection to the land came in early days when he picked pears, apples, chestnuts. A former Aussie Rules footballer, Paul discovered building while working on a bridge building project in remote Australia. He used those skills to build and design Paracombe’s underground cellars and winery.

His naturally creative and intuitive skills are evident with Paracombe’s vineyard plantings, expansions and property development. The layout of his plantings creates a place of beauty to the eye. His deep understanding of his vines and wines are focused on pleasurable drinking and sharing his passion for growing and making great wine.

Kathy Drogemuller

Owner Co-Founder, Chief Sales & Marketing

Kathy spent her early working life as a dental nurse and then public relations and marketing. She was eight months pregnant with the family’s second child, Sarah when Paracombe Wines was launched around the homestead garden.

Being a young mum, juggling family and career, Kathy’s entrepreneurial spirit saw her driving around Adelaide with her little children in tow calling on restaurants and bottle shops because that Paracombe wine had to be sold. So started the vision and a strong desire to grow a successful family business and remains a key driver today as Kathy markets Paracombe within Australia and globally.

Ben Drogemuller

Logistics & Distribution

Second generation family member, Ben has wine running through his veins. From an early age, as soon as he was old enough to hold a pair of snips he was out in the vineyard at harvest time with Paul and Kathy picking grapes and in his own words, “probably eating more than went into the bucket to start.” As he grew older he would spend school holidays working in the vineyard tying down or other jobs. So when he finished school, he already knew this was the life for him and he went straight into working in the family business.

His role today is making sure Paracombe wines get out to customers locally, nationally and globally to all our export markets. He owns his own vineyard at Paracombe with fruit from that single vineyard site being made into a Paracombe specialist release wine, Caretaker Cabernet.

Ryan Giles

Bob’s an ex farmer, worked as a furniture polisher, in the automotive industry and as a fencing contractor. He joined Paracombe in mid 2016 and brings a multi skill set that’s invaluable in our vineyard and winery.

Sarah Drogemuller

Customer Relations & Events

After living and working interstate for close to six years Sarah came back to the fold late 2021 to join the family business. She brings with her a wealth of experience in hospitality and event management. She’s in boots and all with harvest and vintage work in the winery, reusing skills she gained early in life, hand plunging and picking.

She has a passion for food, cooking and delivering exceptional cellar door experiences. Sarah is excited to grow the Paracombe wine love with establishing a wine club, building trade relationships and adding her dynamic to social media, marketing and all things Paracombe.
